A Countable Economy: an Example
نویسنده
چکیده
Weiss (1981) established core equivalence and the existence of competitive equilibria in finitely additive exchange economies. To underline the relevance of finitely additive economies we present in this note an example with a close connection to finite exchange economies. JEL Classification Number: D51.

An Elementary Core Equivalence Theorem in a Countable Economy
We consider an infinite exchange economy with countable many traders, which can be regarded as a natural extension of finite exchange economies to an infinite one. In our countable economy the core defined in the traditional manner would be empty. To avoid this unwanted situation we have to strengthen the notion of “improves upon”. We will achieve this based on the idea that forming coalitions ...
متن کاملA local approach to the entropy of countable fuzzy partitions
This paper denes and investigates the ergodic proper-ties of the entropy of a countable partition of a fuzzy dynamical sys-tem at different points of the state space. It ultimately introducesthe local fuzzy entropy of a fuzzy dynamical system and proves itto be an isomorphism invariant.
متن کاملOne-point extensions of locally compact paracompact spaces
A space $Y$ is called an {em extension} of a space $X$, if $Y$ contains $X$ as a dense subspace. Two extensions of $X$ are said to be {em equivalent}, if there is a homeomorphism between them which fixes $X$ point-wise. For two (equivalence classes of) extensions $Y$ and $Y'$ of $X$ let $Yleq Y'$, if there is a continuous function of $Y'$ into $Y$ which fixes $X$ point-wise. An extension $Y$ ...
متن کاملPath Dependence in Aggregate Output
This paper studies an economy in which incomplete markets and strong complementarities interact to generate path dependent aggregate output fluctuations. An economy is said to be path dependent when the effect of a shock on the level of aggregate output is permanent in the absence of future offsetting shocks. We analyze the evolution of an economy which consists of a countable infinity of indus...
متن کاملIterative methods for finding nearest common fixed points of a countable family of quasi-Lipschitzian mappings
We prove a strong convergence result for a sequence generated by Halpern's type iteration for approximating a common fixed point of a countable family of quasi-Lipschitzian mappings in a real Hilbert space. Consequently, we apply our results to the problem of finding a common fixed point of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings, an equilibrium problem, and a variational inequality problem for co...
